This article explains Google Earth silent install as one of the next series of offline installer’s articles. Google Earth is a tool which is called Virtual Globe. The tool render a 3D representation of Earth constituted on satellite images. The article explain how to create google earth packages for offline and silent install. Tutorial describes both version msi and offline installer (exe). We will try v7.1.8 but should work for other version. Also included tutorial for google earth uninstall silently.

Google Earth offline install.
Download google earth offline installer.
You would want the offline installer of Google Earth. Instead of downloading the setup on every PC, you can download it one time and then install it everywhere. Download Google Earth offline installer directly to application webpage:
Look for the “Download a Google Earth direct installer” and Download the last version of Google Earth offline installer. For the moment is v7.1.8.3036
Copy the exe to a the folder named like “Google Earth offline installer”
Create cmd file for Google Earth unattended installation.
The last version was changed and didn’t work with previously commands. Anyway we managed to find another command that can install silently the offline installer of Google Earth.
Create a text file to the folder created previously. Copy commands below and save like “Install.cmd”.
Note! Change the “googleearth-win-7.1.8.3036.exe” with your Google Earth offline installer name.
Command line explanation
- Audacity-win-2.1.3.exe – Name of the exe file.
- OMAHA=1 – We didn’t have any information for this command.
Execute command.
Run as Administrator the Install.cmd script and the offline version of Google Earth will be installed silently.
Google Earth silent install msi.
Google Earth msi installer is an offline installer package off application.
Download Google Earth msi.
Google Earth msi installer can be extracted from google earth offline installer.
- Download the offline installer of Google Earth explained above and run the exe file.
- After click “install” go to C:WindowsInstaller and look for the last msi file created.
- Copy the msi file to another folder.
- Click properties on the msi file to check details if the msi is for the Google Earth.
Create cmd file for msi silent install.
Create a text file to the folder created for the msi file. Copy commands below and save like “Install.cmd”.
Note! Change the “googleearth.msi” with your Google Earth msi installer name.
Google Earth Msi command line explanation
- /qn – Silent install without display user interface.
- /norestart – Never restart the PC
- /l – Create log for installation
- “c:installlogsgoogle-earth-7.1.8.log ” – log path
Execute command.
Run as Administrator the Install.cmd script and the Google Earth msi installer will be installed silently.
Google Earth Pro silent install.
In terms of the installation, Google Earth and Google Earth Pro don’t have any difference. We can use the same scripts to silent install google earth pro.

To get Google Earth Pro msi version you can use the same procedure explained above for the normal version of Google Earth.
On the script you can change only the part of msi name. For example from “%~dp0googleearth.msi” to “%~dp0googleearthpro.msi”. Everything else is the same.

Uninstall Google Earth silently using the commands:
The command uninstall Google Earth installation silently without required user action.
Copy the commands to a text file and save like “uninstall.cmd”. Run As administrator and Google Earth will be uninstalled silently.

Every version has different product key so you will need to get the product key for actual Google Earth version installed. To do this use steps below:
- Open Regedit

- Find “uninstall string” for Google Earth and get the product key.
- Edit the script above with your product key.

Ways to fix iPhone and Apple errors
Hardware Issues
If you see one of the following errors, then the issue is related to the hardware of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod.

Update iTunes
As we know, every update comes with bug fixes and improvements. You can update the latest iTunes version with ease through iTunes or manually by downloading the iTunes installer from Apple’s official website. Here are the steps to update iTunes directly.
- If you are using Mac: on the menu bar, choose iTunes >> Check for update.
- If you are using PC: from the menu bar, choose Help >> Check for update.
- iTunes will check if the new update available or not.
- If it’s available, a popup dialog will appear. Click Download.
- Let the downloading process to be done, then follow the wizard’s steps.

Try the restoring process again
After you update the iTunes to the latest version, try the restoring process again, 2 times or more.
Disable or remove your antivirus software
The error may be caused by the security software blockade or failure. You can try to disable or remove the security Software on your computer. This process may vary for each computer, thus, you can see it directly on the manufacturer’s website or guideline.
Try another computer
One computer can be different from another and it can affect the restoring process. Try to use the other computer which has a different operating system. Don’t forget to update the iTunes and its OS to the latest version.
Try the other Internet connection
In some cases, the error 14 can be solved by changing the computer and Internet connection from a different router. You can try some Internet connections on the other device, juts to make sure there are no issues.
Try DFU mode
DFU mode is the abbreviation of Device Firmware Upgrade that allows iOS devices to be restored from any state.
- Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod to Mac/PC.
- Launch iTunes. Make sure you have installed the latest iTunes version on your computer.
- Press and hold the power and home buttons until the device restarts. Wait for 5 seconds, then release the power button only and keep pressing the home button.
- The screen of your iOS device will remain dark but it can detect the device in recovery mode.
- Choose Restore.
Solution for Error 53
If you find “error 53”, it is advisable to restore it in DFU mode and let the process to complete. This solution requires iOS 9.3.2 or later. However, if your Touch ID is broken, contact Apple, visit one of their stores or take your iOS device to Apple authorized service provider.
Baseband Issues
The issues we are going to discuss next, are related to baseband and connectivity on iPhone. The errors are included one of these numbers: 9, 4005, 4013, or 4014.
Update iTunes
The errors may appear because the iTunes software on your computer is not up to date. Here is how you can update iTunes:
- For Mac users, choose iTunes from the menu bar >> Check for updates.

Update your computer OS
Every update is important and the same goes for the operating system of your computer. If you are using Mac, go to the App Store app and click Updates on the tool bar. If the update for your Mac is available, click the Update button. For PC users, you can check the OS update, here.
Charge the battery
Check your iPhone battery life and ensure it has enough power. If the battery does not have enough power, charge it for at least 30 minutes or until the battery gets more than 30%. The less battery life can be the reason for these errors to come. Check here if you have a battery life issue on your device.
Use the other USB cable
Check the USB cable that you use to connect your iOS device and computer. Use the original one that is made by Apple. Some third party accessories can make damage on the device, especially if they don’t have an MFI certificate from Apple. Try another USB cable. Then, try to connect it to different UBS port as well.
Use the other computer
Try to restore your iOS device on another computer. If you used Mac before, try to use PC. But, make sure you have updated the operating system of the computer and that it has the latest iTunes version.

Force Restart the device
This is very simple. You can just press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds or until you see the Apple logo shows up.

Try to restore your iOS device in DFU mode. If it fails, try it again for at least 3 times. DFU mode will allow all devices to be restored from any state.
Security Software Issues
Experiencing iOS update and restore errors I will list below, means the error is related to the security Software. The security Software on your computer can bother the communication between iTunes and Apple’s restore server during the restoring process. The error numbers are 2, 4, 6, or 1611.
Disable or remove the security Software
The errors may occur due to the security Software blockade or fault. To make sure that the Software responsible for these errors, you can try to disable or remove it from your computer. The disabling process may be different from one computer to the other ones. You can refer it directly to their website or guideline.
Try the other USB cable
If the USB cable that you use to connect your iOS device to the computer isn’t working well or is broken, it can cause these errors as well. This situation can interfere the communication between iPhone and computer during the restoring process. Try to use the other USB cable that is original or having MFI certificate.
USB Connection Issues
The following errors 3, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009 usually appear due to USB connection issues. You may also see the error message: “Invalid response”.
Use the other USB cable
First, check if you use the Apple USB cable and is it still in good condition and work well? To make sure the error is caused by the USB cable or not, find the other Apple original USB cable and retry the restoring process.
Use the different USB port
USB port has the different hardware versions. Make sure your computer uses USB port 2.0 version or later. Try to use a different USB port in restoring your iPhone. Avoid using USB hubs or extension.
Try another computer
The other computer may have a different hardware and software configurations. Use a different computer to restore your iPhone. Ensure you have updated the OS of your computer and install the latest iTunes version on it.
Communications issues
Next, we are going to talk about the errors associated with the communication during the restoring process. These are the errors:
- 17, 1638, 3014, 3194, 3000, 3002, 3004, 3013, 3014, 3015, 3194, and 3200.
- “There was a problem downloading the software.”
- “The device isn’t eligible for the requested build.”
Check Internet connection
Make sure you don’t have any Internet issues. Check it on your iOS device and computer by opening a website in its browser. If it’s not taking longer than usual or the opening process doesn’t go smooth, try another Internet connection.
Check the Apple server status
You can visit Apple system status on their official website to check if the servers are down for maintenance. If the server is down, try to restore your iPhone a bit later.
Check your host file
The Host file is responsible in terms of communication between the app and server. Make sure the host file of your computer is correct.
For Mac:
- Open Finder. Then, on the menu bar choose Applications > Utilities.
- Open Terminal and type this command: sudo nano /private/etc/hosts and press Return.
- Enter the password you use to sign in to your computer and press Return.
- Terminal will show you the host file
- Navigate using the arrow keys and ensure the entry “gs.apple.com” does not exist there. Otherwise, add the # symbol and a space to the beginning of the entry (# gs.apple.com).
- Press Control-O to save the file.
- Press Return when asked for the filename.
- Press Control-X to exit the editor.
- Restart your Mac.
For Windows:
- Click Start >> All Programs >> Accessories.
- Right-click Notepad and select Run as administrator.
- Click Continue on the Windows needs your permission UAC window.
- When Notepad opens, click File > Open.
- In the File name field, type C:WindowsSystem32Driversetchosts and click Open.
- Make sure the entry “gs.apple.com” does not exist there. Otherwise, add the # symbol and a space to the beginning of the entry (# gs.apple.com).
- Hit File >> Save to save your changes.
Jailbreak Issues
If you have jailbroken your iPhone, iPad, or iPod and you try to restore it, you will get error 1015. What can you do to get rid of this error?
Restore in DFU mode
First, get the latest iTunes version on your computer before you restore your iOS device in DFU mode. This mode allows you to restore from any state. Connect your iOS device to Mac/ PC, then open iTunes. Next, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the device restarts. Wait for 5 seconds and release the Sleep/Wake button, but keep pressing the Home button. The screen of your device will remain dark, but it can detect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod in recovery mode. These errors are related to the communication between your iOS device and computer with Windows OS. If you are finding one of these errors while you are restoring your device, here are some solutions you can try:
- Make sure iTunes is up to date
- Update Windows
- Change the USB port
- Open Task manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Find the following: iTunesHelper.exe, AppleMobileDeviceService.exe, and iPodService.exe. Click on each and choose End process.
- Delete lockdown folder. Disconnect your iPhone from the computer, and quit iTunes. Press the Windows key on your keyboard, or Control (Ctrl) and Escape (Esc). Next, hit the magnifying icon or search field and enter %ProgramData% and press Return. Double-click the Apple folder. Right-click the Lockdown folder and select Delete. Restart your computer and iOS device.
- Uninstall iTunes and install it again.
iPod errors 1415, 1417, 1418, 1428, 1429, 1430
Some errors may appear when you try to update or restore your iPod, including the following errors: 1415, 1417, 1418, 1429 and 1430. Here are the solutions you can try:
Windows Xp Installation Error
- Update iTunes
- Use another USB port
- Unplug third-party USB devices from your computer
- Change the user account you are currently using on your computer. Make sure the other user has admin rights.
- Update your security software
- Disable the security software and try to update or restore your iPod again.
- Uninstall the security software and then try to update or restore your iPod.
